I am a barrister and writer living in Dublin. I am working on a series of crime novels set on the Inishowen peninsula in County Donegal where I lived and worked for a number of years. The first of these, 'Treacherous Strand' was long-listed for the Irish Writer's Centre Novel fair in 2012, the second, 'Whitewater Church' was one of the winners of the 2013 Novel Fair. Both are under submission with publishers. An Arts Council Literature Bursary Award at the end of last year gave me the requisite nerve (or delusional insanity!) to take leave of absence from the Bar and write full time. My short story 'What Maisie Did' is published in 'Celebrating What Really Matters- Powers Irish Whiskey Short Story Collection volume one' and I am about to commence an MFA in Creative Writing in UCD.
